The Florence Griswold Museum invites you to join our group of dedicated volunteers. Some volunteer jobs have a public role while others are more behind-the-scenes. Please consider joining this important group of members who help to make a lasting impression on behalf of the Museum.

Volunteer roles include:

Docents who greet visitors in the Museum’s historic boardinghouse and answer any questions they may have relating to the Lyme Art Colony, Miss Florence Griswold, and the history of Old Lyme.

Educators who lead school-aged children on fun and informative student-focus tours of the Griswold House as well as interactive tours of the exhibitions.

The Garden Gang who help to maintain the Museum’s historic gardens.

Holiday Greeters who welcome guests during the busy holiday season.

The Hospitality Committee, which helps to pass hors d’oeuvres and tend bar at the Museum’s exhibition opening receptions and other special events.

The Mail Team, which help prepare Museum printed communications, such as the Annual Report or Events Calendar.
