with Maureen McCabe, Featured Artist, Revelations: A Decade of Collecting, 2016–2026

Included with Museum Admission, no advance reservations required

Join artist Maureen McCabe for a lively discussion of her work, The Lady in Green Theater. This work explores the visual principles used in camouflage, such as coloration, color theory, and patterning. By using marbleized papers, feather, ribbons, rocks, and 19th century prints, McCabe created an art series in the 1980s that explored these methods. Her talk will take you through the process of making the work, The Lady in Green Theater, and other works in this series.

McCabe will also share an assortment of materials used to make this series, such as the exquisite papers made by Michel Duval, renowned French master craftsman, and patterned ribbons and rocks.

Revelations: A Decade of Collecting, 2016–2026 is currently on view at the Florence Griswold Museum.
