ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM

The Artist-in-Residence program was established at the Florence Griswold Museum in 2019 and is directed by Jenny Parsons, Senior Curator and Co-Chair, Arts and Programming. The program is by invitation only.

The Artist-in-Residence program continues the legacy of Florence Griswold, who welcomed contemporary artists to her boardinghouse in the early 20th century, and fostered the development of American art. FloGris Artists-in-Residence are invited to provide their unique perspective on the history of the Lyme Art Colony, the landscape and environment around the Museum, and histories of the Old Lyme and Connecticut regions.

Residencies have resulted in commissioned works of art, an exhibition, and exhibition catalogue.
