Join this dynamic duo of donor and restoration team captain for a discussion regarding Olafs Zeidenbergs’ abstract sculpture Geode (ca. 1968-69) on view in the current Revelations: A Decade of Collecting, 2016–2026 exhibition. After suffering minor damage while on display outdoors and later in storage, the form has been masterfully repaired and repainted by the team of automotive restoration specialists. Come learn the challenges involved in restoring a sculpture created using non-traditional materials such as wire mesh, fiberglass, resin, and high-gloss paint.
Revelations: A Decade of Collecting, 2016–2026 is currently on view at the Florence Griswold Museum.
