The American Robin (a member of the Thrush family) is the state bird of Connecticut and fondly welcomed by all as the “Herald of Spring.” Even though it is present all year round, its renewed activity foraging in open areas as the ground thaws makes it more visible.

For this class the casting of the bird will be provided, no sculpting skills required. Acrylic painting techniques will be taught to bring it to life, while learning the importance of layering and fine brush work to create the sense of roundness and softness on the robin. You will also learn some basic flower making as we create daffodils from paper and wire. Landscaping materials will be provided and techniques taught to complete the small scene. All skill levels welcome.

Please bring fine tweezers, fine scissors, and a ball tool for shaping flowers. Students should bring magnifiers and a work light as needed. All other tools and materials provided.
